Welcome

I started this blog as a forum for those of us baby boomers who are now for the first time in our lives, becoming athletes. I whipped myself into shape (and hopefully will stay that way) after my daughter was born in 2004. I am currently training for and have completed two sprint triathalons. One of my coaches is an elite athlete, and she started her own blog detailing her training for the Iron Man Florida. While her blog is chock full of interesting and useful information, and fun - I am hoping to collect and compile the anecdotes of others who have begun training for triathalon, marathon - or you name it sports!!!!

First of all, I am NOT an elite athlete :-) Just another 40 something year old trying to stay in shape. Yes, I did do a stupid thing and embark on the Ironman journey this year (you can read about my journey at www.fitbricks.com). It's been quite a ride so far!

I love working with Marie on her endeavor. She is now a triathlete and has fully embraced the sport. I am so proud of her accomplishments so far this year, and the season has just begun!

Keep up the great work Marie!

Thanks so much Diane!!! for sure I have embraced this sport, I am totally having a great time! It's been super meeting people that enjoy doing the same kinds of things that I do. I love the biking, but who knew, I like to swim, and I am starting to make my peace with the running!
